Hyundai Hope on Wheels Donates $250,000 to Primary Children’s Cancer Research

hyunda-hope-on-wheelsAnne Kirchhoff, PhD, a cancer researcher working at Primary Children’s Hospital was the recipient of a $250,000 grant from Hyundai Hope on Wheels. The money will fund research to develop a tool that will improve long-term care for pediatric oncology patients.

“We want to make sure patients and their families have comprehensive information after they finish their cancer therapy,” says Dr. Kirchhoff. “This tool includes documents and online access to information about their treatment.”

During the check ceremony, patients affected by cancer hand painted an official Hope on Wheels lab coat for Dr. Kirchhoff - it’s a long-standing tradition at all Hope on Wheels events.

Hope on Wheels has donated 41 Hope Grants totaling $10.25 million to institutions across the country. By the end of the year, the organization will have given more than $72 million in donations to pediatric cancer institutions since its inception in 1998.
